SYMPTOMS

During encoding, if the ASD file is set to index an output file and if the output ASF does not previously exist, the following error message may occur:

An error occurred reading from ASFChop file

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
