Player Stops Responding when Context Menu Open While Playing Files with Script Commands

SYMPTOMS

When playing content from an .asx play list, if there is a script command embedded in that content and you right-click the Windows Media Player but leave the Context menu open without selecting anything, the Windows Media Player will stop responding.


WORKAROUND

Once the Windows Media Player has stopped responding, you will have to close it by killing the task.

When playing content with script commands, make sure the Context menu is closed.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows Media Player version 6.4.
