Driver Encoder Problems Occur with Some Versions of Hauppauge Video Capture

SYMPTOMS

When you use a Hauppauge Wincast video capture card the Windows Media Encoder, the following problems may occur:

The Windows Media Encoder stops responding.

With the Windows Media Encoder open, the system CPU is at 100 percent utilization.

This problem seems to occur with the Hauppauge version 2.31 drivers.

RESOLUTION

Use either an earlier or later version of the driver.
