Hauppauge WinCast Driver Fails To Open Video Capture Settings

SYMPTOMS

Occasionally after changing Windows Media Encoder template settings a few times you can no longer access the Video Capture Settings for the Hauppauge Wincast capture card.

CAUSE

This seems to be a problem with the Hauppauge 2.31 driver.

RESOLUTION

Use a version of the driver other than 2.31.
