SYMPTOMSWhen multicasting a multi-bitrate .asf file the Windows Media Player will report lost packets on the statistics dialog box. CAUSEThe Windows Media Server only sends the highest bitrate video band and audio in a multi-bitrate .asf file. The Windows Media Player sees that the other video bands (up to 4 bands) are missing and reports the packets from those bands as being lost.
