Server Log Appears Corrupt with Macintosh Clients

SYMPTOMS

The Windows Media Server log file may contain some entries that appear corrupt or have partial and missing data.

CAUSE

Older Beta versions of the Windows Media Player for Macintosh (prior to version 6.3) report statistics incorrectly to the Windows Media Server.

RESOLUTION

Upgrade the Windows Media Player for Macintosh to the most recent version available at the following location:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mediaplayer/download/allplayers.asp

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows Media Services version 4.0.
