ACC2000: Page's Field List Collapses When Switching from MSE

This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and a Microsoft Access project (.adp).


SYMPTOMS

When you switch from the Microsoft Script Editor (MSE) to Microsoft Access, the tree structure in the field list for the data access page may collapse.


RESOLUTION

Click the appropriate plus signs (+) to expand the tree structure so that you can see the fields that you need.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.


  2. In the Database window, click Pages under Objects, and then click New.


  3. In the New Data Access Page dialog box, click Design View. Click OK.


  4. If the field list is not visible, on the View menu, click Field List.


  5. Click the plus sign (+) to the left of Tables, and then click the plus sign (+) to the left of Categories.


  6. The tree should look similar to the following:
    
       Northwind.mdb
             Tables
                Categories
                   Related Tables
                   CategoryID
                   CategoryName
                   Description
                   Picture
                Customers
                Employees 
  7. Click CategoryID, and then click Add To Page.


  8. On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Microsoft Script Editor.


  9. On the taskbar, click <page name>: Data Access Page.


  10. Note that the tree structure looks similar to the following:
    
       Northwind.mdb
             Tables
             Queries
