SYMPTOMS

You cannot select more than one control at a time in Design view of a data access page.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior is different from the Design view of forms and reports where you can select more than one control at a time.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.

  2. On the View menu, point to Database Objects, and then click Pages.

  3. Open the View Products page in Design view.

  4. Select ProductID.

  5. Hold down the SHIFT key and try to click ProductName.

Note that you are not able to select ProductName while you hold down the SHIFT key; ProductID remains selected.

  6. Try to drag the pointer over both ProductID and ProductName. Note that you cannot select multiple controls by starting at any point outside a control and drag a rectangle over the controls that you want to select.
