ACC2000: Section Visibility Property Ignored on Data Access Page

SYMPTOMS

The section of a data access page is visible, even though you have set the Visibility property of that section to Hidden.


RESOLUTION

To make sure a section is not visible in Page view, follow these steps:

  1. Copy and then paste to another area of the page any controls that you want to keep.


  2. Select the section that you want to hide.


  3. Use Step a if you want to hide a section. Use Step b if you want to completely remove a section.


    1. Set the Height property to zero (0).


    2. On the View menu, click Delete.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Open the sample database Northwind.mdb.


  2. In the Database window, click Pages under Objects, and then click New.


  3. In the New Data Access Page dialog box, click Page Wizard.


  4. In the Choose the table or query where the object's data comes from list, click Employees.


  5. Click OK.


  6. In the Page Wizard, move the LastName and FirstName fields from the Available Fields list to the Selected Fields list, and then click Finish.


  7. Set the Visibility property for the header section to Hidden.


  8. On the View menu, click Page View. Note you can still see the header section of the page.
