ACC2000: How to Change the Default Folder for Data Access Pages

SUMMARY

Microsoft Access places new data access pages in the folder specified in the Default database folder setting on the General tab in the Options dialog box. Unless you change this setting, the folder is C:\My Documents. Microsoft Access also places all new databases and Microsoft Access projects in this folder.

To change the default folder for data access pages, follow these steps.

NOTE: When you change the Default database folder setting, the change applies to all new pages, as well as to all new databases and Microsoft Access projects.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. In the Options dialog box, click the General tab.


  3. In the Default database folder box, type the path that you want to set as the new default. For example, type C:\Database Files.


  4. Click OK.


You do not have to restart Microsoft Access. This change takes effect as soon as you click OK or Apply.
