ACC2000: Clicking Print Preview While Previewing Closes the Object

ID: Q208216

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Access 2000

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

SYMPTOMS

While you are previewing an object in the Database window, if you click Print Preview on the File menu, the object closes.

CAUSE

In Microsoft Access, print preview mode is toggled either on or off. When you print preview an object, the button next to the Print Preview command on the File menu is pushed in. If you click Print Preview when it has a pushed-in button next to it, you are issuing a command to turn Print Preview off. Consequently, the object you are previewing closes.

NOTE: If you open a form, report, macro, or module in Design view, and then you print preview the object, when you click Print Preview on the File menu, the object returns to Design view. It does not close.
