ACC2000: Access Stops Responding When You Click Properties for Envelope Toolbar

ID: Q223247

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Access 2000

Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and a Microsoft Access project (.adp).

SYMPTOMS

If you have a data access page open with the E-mail header displayed, and you try to view the properties of the Envelope toolbar in the Customize dialog box, Microsoft Access stops responding.

RESOLUTION

To avoid this problem, do not try to customize the toolbars when in a page with the E-mail header displayed. Before you try to customize the Envelope toolbar, save and close the page.

If Access is not responding, follow these steps:

  1. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to open the Task Manager. If you are in Windows NT, you can also right-click on the Windows Task Bar and click Task Manager.

  2. In the Task Manager dialog box, click Microsoft Access. In Windows NT, make sure you are on the Applications tab.

  3. Click End Task.

  4. When the confirmation dialog box appears, click the End Task button on it as well.

Access then shuts down.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
