ACC2000: You Cannot Open or Convert an Access 97 Database

The information in this article applies to:

This article applies only to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb).


SYMPTOMS

You find that you cannot open or convert one of your Access 97 databases. Either nothing happens at all (the operation fails silently), or you receive the following error messages:

An error occurred while loading '<form name>'. Do you want to continue loading the project?
When you click Yes or No, you receive the following error message:
The Visual Basic for Applications Project in the database is corrupt.
When you click OK the database is not opened or converted.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
