SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel version 4.0, when you insert a cell, row, the pattern format is not copied from an adjacent cell if the new cell is inserted between two cells that contain different pattern formatting. In Microsoft Excel, when you insert a cell, row, or column, all cell
formats are copied from the cell above the inserted cell (when you are
shifting cells down or inserting a row) or to the left of the inserted cell
(when you are shifting cells right or inserting a column).
