SUMMARYIn Microsoft Excel, if you move a data label or a trendline equation on a chart, that label or equation may disappear when you change the data that the chart was created from. CAUSE
When you move a data label or a trendline equation on a chart, the distance
you move (offset) the label or equation is stored and is used when you
change the data in the chart. You cannot detach a data label or trendline
equation from a data point: the label or equation moves relative to the
changing data. This relative movement may cause your data labels or
trendline equations to move off of the chart area when you change the data
you created your chart from.
WORKAROUNDSTo Restore a Data Label or Trendline EquationTo restore a data label or a trendline equation that has disappeared because your chart data changed, do the following:
To Restore a Trendline Equation OnlyTo restore a trendline equation that has disappeared because of changing chart data, you can use the above workaround, or you can remove the trendline equation and add it back as follows:
