Excel: Importing Lotus 1-2-3 Macro Library Files to Excel

SUMMARY

To import Lotus 1-2-3 macro library (*.MLB) files into Microsoft Excel, move the files into a Lotus 1-2-3 worksheet and then open that worksheet in Microsoft Excel.

To transfer Lotus macro library files to Microsoft Excel, do the following:

  1. In Lotus 1-2-3, load the desired library with the following steps:


    1. Select /Add-In Attach


    2. Select the macro library to be converted


    3. Choose Quit




  2. Copy the library commands to a worksheet by choosing the Edit command in the Lotus Macro Library Manager.

    1. Select /Add-In Attach


    2. Select MACROMGR.ADN


    3. Select the key you want to use to invoke the manager.


    4. Select Invoke Edit.




  3. Define the macros.


  4. Save the worksheet.


  5. Close the worksheet and exit Lotus 1-2-3.


  6. Start Microsoft Excel.


  7. Open the saved worksheet. You are now ready to use the macros in Microsoft Excel by pressing ALT+<key>, where <key> is the shortcut key assigned to run the desired macro (as defined in step 3).
