XL5: Graphs Not Saved to Lotus .WK3 (1-2-3) File Format

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, if you save a file that contains graphs to the Lotus .WK3 (1-2-3) file format, the graphs are gone when you reopen the file.

NOTE: This problem also occurs if you save the file to the WK3,FM3 (1-2-3) file format.


WORKAROUND

In Microsoft Excel, to save a Lotus 1-2-3 file that contains graphs without losing the graphs, do either of the following:

  • Activate each graph by selecting each chart sheet tab before you save the file. Each chart sheet that has been activated is saved when you save the file to the .WK3 (1-2-3) file format.


  • -or-

  • Save the file in Microsoft Excel file format.



MORE INFORMATION

When you open a Lotus 1-2-3 file that contains graphs in Microsoft Excel, each graph is opened as a separate chart sheet.

For more information on graph options in Lotus 1-2-3 and the equivalent commands in Microsoft Excel, choose Lotus 1-2-3 from the Help menu.
