SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Excel, when you open a Multiplan file that contains an external link that references a blank cell, you receive a general protection (GP) fault in module XLCONVMP.DLL. CAUSEThis behavior occurs because Microsoft Excel expects all referenced cells in the Multiplan file to contain data. If any of the referenced cells are blank, you receive a GP fault. The problem occurs whether the cells are referenced using a named range, or the cell references. WORKAROUND
To avoid receiving a GP fault when you open a Multiplan file that
contains data copied from another file, do either of the following:
