  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 5.0, 5.0a

SYMPTOMS

If you rename the System folder after you install Microsoft Excel 5.0, you receive the following error message when you insert a module sheet in a workbook

and the module sheet is not inserted.

If you record a macro using the Visual Basic language option, you receive the error message above, followed by:

You may also receive this error message when you start Microsoft Excel.

WORKAROUND

To avoid receiving this error message when you start Microsoft Excel or insert a module sheet, rename your System folder back to the name that it had when you installed Microsoft Excel.

Note that you can rename the System folder without closing Microsoft Excel.
