XL5: AutoSum Feature Does Not Work Properly on Large Ranges

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel, when you use the AutoSum tool to calculate data in a range that contains a large number of cells, you may not receive the results you expect. For example, one or more cell references may not be included in the sum formula after. The following table lists the total number of sum formulas you can have for a given range.

   From 100 to 115      Up to 14
   From 115 to 200      Up to 13 


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel version 5.0c for Windows.
