SYMPTOMSWhen you retrieve a large result set using the SQLRetrieve macro function in the version of Microsoft Excel listed above, you may receive the following alert message: If you choose Yes, the SQLRetrieve function will continue to retrieve the result set to the specified destination. CAUSEThe SQLRetrieve function turns off the suppression of alert messages; therefore, you will receive the alert message stated above. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the version of Microsoft Excel listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available. MORE INFORMATIONThe SQLRetrieve macro function is contained in the XLODBC.XLA add-in (ODBC Add-In on the Macintosh). Before you use the function, you must establish a reference to the add-in using the References command from the Tools menu.
