The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Query, when you click the New Query button or click New Query on the File menu, the Available Data Sources list in the Select Data Source dialog box may be empty. CAUSE
This behavior occurs after you install Microsoft Query, using either the
Microsoft Office version 7.0 Setup program or the Microsoft Excel version
7.0 Setup program. This behavior is by design of Microsoft Query. The list
of data sources that Microsoft Query uses is different from the list of
data sources that ODBC uses.
RESOLUTIONTo add a data source to the Available Data Sources list in Microsoft Query, do the following:
