SYMPTOMS
When you create a link from one sheet to the same cell or range in another
sheet in a workbook, the link either is not updated automatically or it is
updated inconsistently. For example, if you create the following link in
cell P20 of Sheet 1
and then enter a value in cell P20 of Sheet 2, the value is not reflected in cell P20 of Sheet 1. Instead, Sheet 1 shows a zero in that location. Similarly, if a range of cells refers to a cell or cells on another sheet, the cells may not all be updated correctly when cells on the original sheet are modified. WORKAROUND
A patch is available that corrects this problem. In addition, Microsoft
Office version 7.0b corrects the behavior. However, note that although the
dependencies work correctly, affected cells that already contain incorrect
values are not automatically updated. You must force existing incorrect
values to recalculate, and then resave the file.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Excel for Windows 95, version 7.0a. REFERENCES
