SYMPTOMSWhen you use the Histogram tool from the Analysis ToolPak in Microsoft Excel, the following message may appear: If you click Details, a message similar to the following appears:
-or- NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Excel 5.0, and you click Details, the second message appears. CAUSE
Data analysis tools from the Analysis ToolPak work only with data from a
single worksheet at a time. Therefore, you must ungroup the worksheets
before you use any tool in the Analysis ToolPak, including the Histogram
tool.

To work around this behavior, use one of the following methods.
Move the data that you want to use in the data analysis to one worksheet and ungroup the worksheets before you perform the data analysis.Method 2: In the Histogram dialog box, specify an output range that is not on the active worksheet. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. To ungroup worksheets that you previously grouped, press the SHIFT key
while clicking on the active worksheet tab, or right-click the active
worksheet tab and click Ungroup.
