XL: Module Sheets Are Visible in the Microsoft Excel Viewer

ID: Q168914

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel Viewer for Windows 95, version 7.0, version 97

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft Excel 95 workbook in one of the Microsoft Excel Viewers listed above, your module sheet(s) may be visible. Normally you would expect the module sheet(s) to be hidden in the Microsoft Excel Viewer. If you select a module sheet, while in the Microsoft Excel Viewer, the module sheet may appear to be a worksheet because it will display gridlines.

NOTE: Any macros that are written on the module sheet(s) are unavailable because the Microsoft Excel Viewers do not support macro functionality.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, the module sheet(s) can be hidden. To hide a module sheet, use the following procedure:

  1. Open the workbook in Microsoft Excel 95.

  2. Select the module sheet.

  3. On the Edit menu, point to Sheet, and then click Hide.

Repeat this procedure for each module in your workbook.
