SYMPTOMSWhen you create multiple-level (or nested) subtotals for data, the totals appear in the incorrect order (are staggered incorrectly) and may exclude grand totals for some functions. CAUSE
This problem occurs when you do the following:

To work around this problem, click to select the Summary Below Data check
box in the Subtotal dialog box.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
