STATUSThis behavior is by design of Microsoft Excel 98. MORE INFORMATIONIf you encounter this behavior and you try to delete the inserted Sheet1, you receive the following error message: In Microsoft Excel 98, you cannot insert new module sheets or unhide module sheets that you have inserted into a workbook that you have created in an earlier version of Microsoft Excel. Therefore, you must retain the extra worksheet. If you insert another visible sheet into the workbook (such as a chart sheet or a Microsoft Excel 5.0 dialog sheet), you can then delete or hide the worksheet that Microsoft Excel has inserted.
