Excel: Displaying Row and/or Column Titles with Split Window

SUMMARY

You can display selected rows and/or columns as window titles by using the split window bars.

The split window bars are located in the lower-left and upper-right corners (each next to a scroll arrow) in the active worksheet window. To split the window, click the split bar and drag it into the worksheet area, positioning it between the rows and columns to be displayed as titles.


MORE INFORMATION

For example, if you want column A and rows 1 and 2 to be displayed as titles, do the following:

  1. Click the vertical split window bar (located to the left of the left arrow on the horizontal scroll bar).


  2. Drag the vertical split window bar and position it between columns A and B.


  3. Click the horizontal split window bar (located above the up arrow on the vertical scroll bar).


  4. Drag the horizontal split window bar and position it between rows 2 and 3.
