Excel: Disabling Math Coprocessor

The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 1.x, 2.x, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0

If a math coprocessor is present, Microsoft Excel automatically uses it for higher-precision calculations.

To disable the math coprocessor, do the following:

In the Finder, click Microsoft Excel.

Hold down the COMMAND, OPTION, and SHIFT keys and click the Open command on the File menu.

Note that this technique will not work on Power Macintosh because the coprocessor cannot be disabled on a Power Macintosh.
