Excel: Charts Do Not Print As Well in Other Applications

ID: Q51544

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 2.2, 3.0, 4.0

SUMMARY

When Microsoft Excel charts are pasted into other applications and printed to an Apple LaserWriter, the quality may not be as high as if the chart were printed from within Excel itself.

When a chart is printed from within Excel, PostScript information is sent to the printer for higher printing quality. When a chart is copied from Excel, it is saved to the Clipboard as a PICT image that does not retain any of the PostScript information. Therefore, the chart may print at a lower quality.
