ID: Q65380

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Excel for the Macintosh, versions 2.x, 3.0, 4.0

SUMMARY

Microsoft Excel will not convert a file's format to Normal when saving if the file was originally created or saved in a format other than Excel's Normal format.

For example, if a Lotus 1-2-3 worksheet is opened into Excel and Save is chosen from the File menu, the file will be saved in Lotus 1-2-3 format (WKS or WK1).

To save the worksheet in Excel's Normal format, do the following:

  1. From the File menu, choose Save As.

  2. Click the Options button.

  3. Select the Normal option and click OK.

  4. Click the Save button.
