SUMMARY
If you chose the AutoFit command (from the Format menu, choose Column, and
then choose AutoFit) or the Best Fit command (Microsoft Excel 4.0 and
earlier) to change the size of a column, and you then enter more
information in a cell in that column so that the entry is longer than the
new optimal column width, the column width is not changed to accommodate
the new text.
MORE INFORMATIONWhen you choose AutoFit or Best Fit, Microsoft Excel determines the minimum width necessary to display the contents of the selected cells.
