Excel: Aligning Graphics Objects Along a Border

SUMMARY

Multiple graphic objects can be aligned with each other along any side by using one of the following methods.

The first method uses worksheet borders to align objects:

Drag the objects to an edge of the worksheet (be sure they touch the edge).

Use the selection tool in the tool bar or hold down SHIFT and click to select all the objects.

While the objects are still selected, drag the group to its final position. The objects will maintain their alignment.

The second method uses a layout grid as shown on pages 514-516 in the "Microsoft Excel User's Guide" (Macintosh) version 3.0 manual.

The third method (Macintosh only) uses the COMMAND key to drag objects:

Hold down COMMAND and drag an object to the desired row and column. The object will be placed in the upper-left corner of a cell.

Drag subsequent objects while holding down COMMAND to align them with the same row or column border.

The fourth method involves writing a macro that creates the objects relative to cells in the same row or column. This macro will use X_offset1 and Y_offset1 parameters of 0. For example:
