SUMMARY
This article discusses the proper method for opening a
password-protected original template document for editing.
Note: The method for editing an original template document is
discussed on page 557 of the "Microsoft Excel User's Guide" for
version 3.0.
MORE INFORMATION
To open a password-protected document for editing:
- From the File Menu, choose Open.
- In the Files box, select the template you want to edit or
type the complete filename in the File Name box.
- Press the SHIFT key and choose OK.
- In the Password box, enter the password.
- Press the SHIFT key and choose OK.
The original template document can now be edited.
