SUMMARY
When you create an outline in Microsoft Excel for Windows, you can use
the numeric keypad to promote and demote rows. Select the entire row
by clicking on the row header, then press either ALT+SHIFT+6 (on the
numeric keypad) to demote the row or ALT+SHIFT+4 to promote the row.
When pressing these keystrokes successively without releasing the ALT
key, the "@" symbol may be entered into the first cell of the row.
MORE INFORMATION
Microsoft Excel interprets the keystrokes as an ANSI code (ALT+064, which
represents the "@" character) and enters the symbol into the cell. To
delete the symbol, press the ESC key or click on the Cancel box to
cancel the cell edit.
