XL: Incorrect Date Format with Canadian English

SUMMARY
The date number format is listed incorrectly in Microsoft Excel when the
Country is configured for "Canada [English]" in Windows version 3.x or
"English (Canadian)" in Windows 95 and Windows NT. The format displays as
jj/mm/aa instead of dd/mm/yy.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Excel listed above.

Windows 3.x and Microsoft Excel 4.0
- Open the Control Panel.
- Choose the International icon.
- Choose Country and change it to Canada [English] and choose OK.
- Open Microsoft Excel.
- From the Format menu, choose Number.
- Select Date from the Category list.
Windows 95 and Microsoft Excel 7.0
- On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Regional Settings icon.
- In the list of countries, select "English (Canadian)". Click OK. If
prompted to restart Windows, click No.
- In Microsoft Excel, click Cells on the Format menu.
- Select the Number tab.
- In the list of categories, click "Custom".
- Scroll down in the list of format Types.
The incorrect date format will be displayed (jj/mm/aa).
