Excel: Formats Copied from Protected Document

SUMMARY

When copying data from a protected document in Excel 4.0, formatting will be transferred into unprotected documents.

MORE INFORMATION

This feature was not provided in Excel 3.0. In Excel 3.0, only the values would be pasted if they were copied from a protected document to an unprotected document. In Excel 4.0, however, the formatting from a particular cell(s) will be pasted as well.

The formats are pasted to the new worksheet. If you would like to just paste the values as with Excel 3.0, use the Paste Special command and choose Values.
