SUMMARYIn Microsoft Excel, settings in the EXCEL4.INI file may be overridden by a template file located in the XLSTART directory. In version 5.0, the file is EXCEL5.INI. MORE INFORMATION
The EXCEL4.INI (or EXCEL5.INI) file can be used to specify default settings
in Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Excel reads the EXCEL4.INI (or EXCEL5.INI)
ile before any files are loaded from the XLSTART directory. For example,
you can specify a line in the EXCEL4.INI (or EXCEL5.INI) file to change the
default font for Microsoft Excel. When starting Microsoft Excel, the
EXCEL4.INI (or EXCEL5.INI) file will be read and the appropriate font
setting will be made. Microsoft Excel then loadsany files located in your
XLSTART directory. However, if there is a template file called SHEET.XLT in
this directory, the settings it contains will be activated, overriding the
settings created in the EXCEL4.INI (or EXCEL5.INI) file.
