FP2000: How to Use Internic to Find Who Owns a Domain

SUMMARY

You may have a situation where you need to find out who owns a domain and who is the technical contact for the site. To do this, start your Web browser and type the following URL in the Address box

http://rs.internic.net/cgi-bin/whois?domainname.com

where "domainname.com" is the domain whose owner you want to find. Note that you do not include the "www." portion of the domain when you run this query.

This can also be used to see if a domain name is available.
