SYMPTOMSWhen you preview a web page that contains a FrontPage component (by clicking the Preview tab at the bottom of the FrontPage window or by clicking Preview In Browser on the Standard toolbar), you may receive the following message:
CAUSEFrontPage components that interact with a Web server will not function when you create a disk-based FrontPage Web. Browse-time components will only function when you use a HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) server on which you have installed the FrontPage Server Extensions. RESOLUTIONTo work around this behavior, use the appropriate method for your situation. Method 1: If you have pages with an ASP file extensionPublish Active Server Pages on one of the following server configurations:

If the title of your Web contains a drive letter and one or more backslashes, similar to the following, you have a disk-based web:c:\mywebIf the title of your Web contains "http" and forward slashes, similar to the following, you have a server-based web: http://mywebNOTE:The alert described in the summary section will always be shown if you are looking at the Preview tab, regardless of whether or not the web is on a web server.
