FP2000: ActiveX Controls Page Values Are Not Saved as Embedded Files

SYMPTOMS

When you insert an ActiveX Control on a page and configure its Value property to a page outside of the current web, the external file referenced is not automatically imported into the web when you save the page.


RESOLUTION

When you insert an ActiveX Control with a Page value, import the file that is to be the value into the current web. To import a file into the web, follow these steps:

  1. On the File menu, click Import.


  2. In the Import dialog box, click Add File.


  3. Browse to the location of the file that you want to import, and then select it.


  4. Click Open.


  5. In the Import dialog box, click OK.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
