FP2000: Spelling Checker Shows Word as Correct When You Use Undo Command

ID: Q219978

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Undo command (CTRL+Z) twice after you have corrected a spelling error, the previously misspelled word is misspelled, but the spelling checker does not show the word as misspelled.

CAUSE

When you use the Undo command, the item that is next in the undo stack is the action that was previously made.

For example, when you type the word "saafe" (without the quotation marks), you see Undo Typing on the Edit menu. If you press ENTER after typing the word "saafe" (without the quotation marks), the spelling checker shows the word as misspelled, and you notice Undo Insert on the Edit menu.

There are two actions when you add a word to a page: typing and insert.

RESOLUTION

To resolve the problem described in the "Symptoms" section of this article, click Redo Insert on the Edit menu.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
