FP2000: "Help Topic not available" Error for Some Visual Basic Topics

SYMPTOMS

When you try to view the Help topics for the AnswerWizard object or the LanguageSettings object, you may receive the following error message:

Help Topic Not Available

The Help topic cannot be displayed because Microsoft Office Visual Basic Help cannot be found, was not installed, or was removed.
Included with the error message are instructions on how to install Visual Basic Help.

This message appears even though you have Visual Basic Help installed.


RESOLUTION

To view the Help topics for the AnswerWizard or LanguageSettings object, find the term in the Object Browser and then view its Help topic. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Open a Web in FrontPage.


  2. Press ALT+F11 to start the Visual Basic Editor.


  3. On the View menu, click Object Browser.


  4. In the Search Text box, type the term that you want to look up. For example, type AnswerWizard or LanguageSettings, and then press ENTER.


  5. In the Search Results pane, right-click the object name, and then click Help on the menu that appears.

    Note that the Help topic is displayed in a new window.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
