FP2000: Changes to Horizontal Navigation Image Don't Appear

ID: Q238636

The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000

SYMPTOMS

When you modify your theme to show a different graphic for the Horizontal Navigation button or the Vertical Navigation button, your modifications are visible in the Sample of Theme preview window. When you apply your theme, however, you don't see your custom images on the navigation bar.

CAUSE

Every theme has both an Active graphics image set and a Normal graphics set. Make sure you are altering the graphic for the correct image set for your application.

In addition, the Horizontal Navigation and Vertical Navigation images are only drawn if the navigation bar links are not Top Level or Back and Next.

RESOLUTION

Confirm that you are making alterations to the correct graphics set. Use the button at the bottom of the Modify Theme dialog box to choose the appropriate graphics set for your application. If you have made modifications to the Active graphics set only, you need to apply the theme using Active graphics in order to see them.

If your navigation bar is configured to display Top Level pages, the Global Navigation image will be used. Either alter that image to see your changes, or reconfigure the navigation bar.

If your navigation bar is configured to use Back and Next links, the Quick Back, Quick Home, Quick Next, and Quick Up images will be used. Either alter those images to see your changes, or reconfigure the navigation bar.
