FP2000: Invalid Page Fault in Mfc42.dll When Starting FrontPage

SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to open FrontPage 2000, the following error message appears:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you see the following message:
FRONTPG caused an invalid page fault in module MFC42.DLL
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if a registry key is damaged or contains an incorrect value.
RESOLUTION
WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that
may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor
can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
For information about how to edit the registry, view the "Changing Keys and
Values" Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) or the "Add and Delete
Information in the Registry" and "Edit Registry Data" Help topics in
Regedt32.exe. Note that you should back up the registry before you edit it.
If you are running Windows NT, you should also update your Emergency
Repair Disk (ERD).
To resolve this issue, use Registry Editor to verify that the registry key listed below exists and has the value listed. If needed, edit the value to match the value listed.

Value for BarID:
Decimal: 59393
Hexadecimal: e801
- On the Start menu, click Run.
- Type regedit and click OK.
- Expand the following folders:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\FrontPage\Explorer\FrontPage Explorer\ToolbarsState-Bar0
If the "BarID" Dword value is incorrect:
- Right-click the "BarID" Dword value, and click Modify on the context menu.
- Select Hexadecimal option, and change the ValueData field to e801.
- Click OK.
If the the "BarID" Dword value is missing:
- Click New Dword value on the Edit menu.
- Name the new Dword value "BarID".
- Right-click the "BarID" Dword value, and click Modify on the context menu.
- Click Hexadecimal option, and change the ValueData field to e801.
- Click OK.
