SYMPTOMSWhen you view a HyperText Markup Language (HTML) document that contains hover buttons in Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, you will see a gray rectangle on the page and the following message will appear on the Web browser's status bar.
CAUSEThe problem occurs when the Java Virtual Machine in Internet Explorer 4.0 displays Java controls at a color depth of 32-bits per pixel. RESOLUTIONYou can work around this behavior by using one of the following methods: Method 1: Reduce the color depth to less than 32-bits per pixel
Method 2: Use a graphic rather than the hover button
