SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to open a Web in FrontPage, one of the following errors
occurs.
-OR-In the FrontPage client: NOTE: This is an Access Violation in Shtml.dll and will not cause the Web server to stop serving pages. If the computer is a dual processor computer, ensure it is running the 3.02.1706 version of the extensions or later. For additional information, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: Q188890 Server Extension Fixes in FrontPage 98B Release CAUSEThese errors indicate that there is corrupt content present in the Web. If you are able to create a subweb and the subweb functions normally, or if the error only happens when opening one particular subweb, or one particular virtual server, then content is almost certainly the cause. Any type of file can cause this problem, but the most common corruption is a badly formed meta refresh tag. RESOLUTION
Import the files into a new Web. When the bad file is imported, the error
will be produced. The last file to be successfully imported is then the
cause.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the FrontPage 98 for Windows.
