SYMPTOMS

When you import a file into your FrontPage Web, the following error occurs:

Internal error: Attempt to use a socket that has been shut down.

The server connection has timed out.

CAUSE

The error occurs if the file size is larger than 63.4K (64,925 bytes), has the same name as a file that is already located in the Web, and has the same extension (for example .html). If the file is smaller, the error may not occur.

WORKAROUND

To prevent this error from occurring, delete the file that is currently residing on your FrontPage Web, and then complete the importing or copying of the new or updated file.
