SYMPTOMSAfter you create an external link, and you switch to Reports View, run the Broken Hyperlinks Report and verify all hyperlinks, you find that the link shows as broken. You have also verified that this is a good link because you can browse to it. CAUSEThe broken link occurs when the link points to a Web server that does not support the HTTP HEAD operation. FrontPage uses HTTP HEAD operation to attempt to fetch the header of the page; if that fails, the link is considered to be broken. RESOLUTIONThe resolution is to test the link yourself in a browser. Even though FrontPage shows the link as broken, it is not. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions.
