SYMPTOMS
When you apply a new theme to a Web using FrontPage 2000, Page Banners and DHTML Buttons are not created or show no text; however, no error messages are returned.
CAUSE
This problem can occur when a navigation link exists to documents that no longer exist in the Web.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use the following steps:
- Gather a list of all pages that have been deleted:
- Open the Web in question in FrontPage.
- Click Tools, and then click Recalculate Hyperlinks on the menu bar.
- Click Yes when prompted.
- When the recalculation encounters the error in the navigation structure, it will display an error message similar to the following:
Server Error: The folder that would hold URL
/Path/_overlay/File.ext does not exist
on the server.
- Take note of any pages referenced.
- Remove the list of pages from the navigation:
- Click View, and then click Navigation on the menu bar.
- Locate the page in the navigation structure.
- Right-click on the file and choose Delete on the pop-up menu.
- Choose Delete this page from the web.
- Click OK.
- Click Tools, and then click Recalculate Hyperlinks on the menu bar.
- Click Yes when prompted.
- Repeat the previous step for each page that no longer exists in the Web.
- Browse your Web. All the Banner and Button graphics should appear correctly.
